According to a report from ESPN’s Dave Mcmenamin, Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James was excused from Tuesday morning’s practice session due to a “personal matter.” However, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2003 Draft will be available against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Through his first 10 games of the 2017-18 season, James, now in his 15th season of NBA service, has posted some impressive statistical figures, averaging 28.8 points on 60.8 percent shooting from the field, 9.1 assists, and 7.4 rebounds per contest — all while making 84.6 percent of his free-throws. Needless to say, he is an extremely important piece of Cleveland’s rotation.
“Nothing was said by team officials Tuesday to indicate why James wasn’t at shootaround, beyond the general “personal issue,” Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com writes in his recent article.
The Cavs, now 4-6 and fourth in the Central Division, have been dealing with several injuries this season, including Isaiah Thomas’ lingering hip ailment, Iman Shupert’s sore right knee, and Tristan Thompson’s left calf strain.
Shumpert, 27, has missed a week of action due to his ailment, but the savvy defender could be ready to make his return tonight, according to Cleveland.com.
“A team spokesman said guard Iman Shumpert is “probable” to return from a right knee injury that has kept him out for a week.”
The Cavs are scheduled to host the Milwaukee Bucks tonight (Tuesday) in what will be the second of four meetings this season between the two sides. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST with NBATV, Fox Sports Ohio, and Fox Sports Wisconsin having live broadcast coverage.
