Now that he’s playing for his hometown team, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Larry Nance Jr. is able to spend a lot more time with his family.

As most hoops fans know, Nance Jr., 25, came to the Cavs by way of their trade deadline deals. In what some experts have described as a roster overhaul, Cleveland decided to trade six players. In return, they received four new faces: Nance Jr, Jordan Clarkson, George Hill, and Rodney Hood.

Following Sunday’s 110-94 loss to the San Antonio Spurs, Nance Jr. was asked if he hangs out with Pete, his younger brother who plays for Revere High School in Richfield, Ohio.

Just for the record, Nance Jr. is a Revere High alum.

“That’s my little brother, so yea, I hang out with him,” Nance Jr. said in response. “I got to go to his last game at Shaker Heights. I was there, sitting on the bench. Whenever we’re not playing and he is, I’ll be sitting on the bench. I look forward to watching their playoff run. Go Revere.”

“Me and him are polar opposites,” Nance continued. “I stay in the paint, not really a ball-handler. He’s the total opposite. He likes to bring the ball up, take one dribble pull-ups and three’s and stuff like that. I’ve yet to admit it, but I guess he’s a little bit taller than I am as well. He’s gonna be really good, and I’m just excited to be home and watch him play.”

Nance Jr. is right on the money when he says his brother is going to be good. Pete, who has already committed to Northwestern University, was ranked as the No. 39 player in the class of 2018 by Rivals. ESPN, 24/7 Sports, and Scout view the forward as a four-star recruit, ranking him among the top 80 players in the country.

Nance Jr. and the Cavs, winners in five of their last seven games, will be back in action on Tuesday night, as they’re scheduled to host the Brooklyn Nets inside Quicken Loans Arena. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST with FOX Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
