Cleveland Cavaliers sniper Kyle Korver is one of the best outside shooters in the history of the NBA, a fact that Korver’s former teammate and Brooklyn Nets forward DeMarre Carroll reminded everyone while watching Game 4 of the series between the Cavs and the Indiana Pacers on Sunday.

What DeMarre Carroll was referring to with the pair of tweets was the crucial role Kyle Korver played late in the Cavs’ 104-100 Game 4 win over Indiana. With Cleveland trailing the Pacers by a point with under four minutes left in regulation, Korver drilled a 23-foot 3-pointer to put the Cavs ahead by a point, 94-93.

A little over two minutes later, Korver would rise up to the occasion again, as he buried another trey to stretch the Cavs’ lead to four, 99-95. Kyle Korver also went 2-for-2 from the charity stripe with seconds remaining in the game to ensure that that the Cavaliers would tie the series up, 2-2. All told, Korver finished the game with 18 points with four 3-pointers, three rebounds, and two blocks in 26 minutes of floor duty.

Of course, DeMarre Carroll is very much familiar with Korver’s ability to strike from downtown. The two played two seasons (2013-14 to 2014-15) together in Hawks uniform, and during that time, Atlanta reached the postseason both times, even reaching the2015 Eastern Conference Finals in 2015, where they succumbed to the Cavs via a series sweep.

The Nets did not make the postseason, so Carroll has plenty of time to watch his former Atlanta teammates like Boston Celtics big man Al Horford, Minnesota Timberwolves guard Jeff Teague, and Korver compete in these playoffs.
