The Cleveland Cavaliers have faced their share of struggles throughout this start to the regular season, already tying the worst losing streak of last season with a four-game skid — but have somehow managed to steady the ship, winning three of their last five games.

Despite the tumultuous ride through the first month of competition, marksman Kyle Korver isn’t worried about the excuses or reasons for the Cavs’ failures early on, knowing there’s more to this team before it reaches full force.

“There has been a lot of turnover,” Korver told Marc Stein of The New York Times. “There has been a lot of lineup changes. There has been a lot of ‘new.’ LeBron was hurt for the whole preseason, so the new guys didn’t really have a chance to play with him. There’s a lot of excuses if you want to go that route.

“But we’re still a confident team. We know what we’re capable of. We know pieces are going to keep coming in. Our team is going to evolve two or three more times over the course of the season — I think everyone here knows that.”

The Cavs have undergone plenty of roster changes and coaching adjustments, which come right with it; and they can possibly go through even more down the line. As time passes, this core unit will start to figure out what works best and get more acclimated to its strengths, while the Cavs coaching staff polishes up its weaknesses.
