Cleveland Cavaliers head coach J.B. Bickerstaff just received a huge present from the Cavs in the form of a contract extension, with the team extending his deal up to the end of the 2026-27 NBA season. Bickerstaff must be very ecstatic about this news, but another member of the Cavs has already expressed his happiness over this latest development, and it’s no other than big man Kevin Love, who took to Twitter to show his true feelings about it.

It’s hard to argue against the idea that Bickerstaff deserves this extension. The Cavs have been admirably doing well this season, having won 19 games with 13 losses by Christmas Day.  Cleveland is inside the current playoff picture in the East, and that’s despite missing Collin Sexton to injury early in the season.

Under Bickerstaff, the Cavs are seemingly developing a new identity — and confidence that the team never had since LeBron James left the franchise the second time around. With youngsters like Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, and Jarrett Allen plus the presence of the vets in the forms of Love and Ricky Rubio, the Cavs come across as a well-balanced team with a bright future ahead.

The Cavs’ development into a title contender also appears to be moving at a rapid pace, as evidenced by the team’s success thus far this season, so among the challenges for Bickerstaff right now is sustaining Cleveland’s form and further strengthening the positive culture that he’s clearly instilled in the team.
