The Cleveland Cavaliers are currently ranked third in the Eastern Conference. In 2016, the Cavaliers won the NBA championship over the 73-win Golden State Warriors, which went down as one of the most memorable Finals series in the history of the league. Though, it appears that most of the credit for these accomplishments are thrown up to LeBron James, the Cavaliers’ best player and the best player in the league by consensus. Because of this, Kevin Love is usually always never mentioned in terms of the Cavaliers’ success.

On Tuesday morning, Love posted a story on The Players Tribune, where he opened up about his struggles with mental issues. At the beginning of the season, Love admits he suffered from a panic attack, citing some serious concern on whether his career is taking a toll on his health.

Love wrote about his ordeal in a post on the Players’ Tribune, discussing the incident and some other issues. After receiving hundreds of benevolent responses, Love described this support as overwhelming, per Dave McMenamin of ESPN.

“I mentioned it doesn’t discriminate, but in a lot of ways young men and young boys are pretty far behind. That was pretty apparent yesterday in talking to guys and talking to someone like Jose [Calderon], who sits next to me on the plane. There’s a lot of follow-ups to this. Overwhelming is a good word to use, and also I mean that in a positive way, a positive connotation. I’m just trying to read through all the emails, all the texts and respond to everybody in the right way. There’s a lot of work to be done, but I’m really glad this is out there and I’m really glad I can help.”

Mental health issues are a serious dilemma that have victimized many people, including celebrities, over the years. Regardless of someone’s social stature or wealth, these can become a serious problem that can cause depression or possibly death. That’s why Love wrote the article: to give people another look at mental health issues and to let people suffering through it know they are not alone in this battle.
