Many consider Matthew Dellavedova’s return to the Cleveland Cavaliers via trade to be a Prodigal Son type of narrative. The Cavs faithful sure are glad to have the Australian back in the fold — perhaps mostly for sentimental reasons — and by the looks of it, Cleveland superstar Kevin Love is also all in on the hype.

Love shared his excitement to the world via Instagram, sharing an endearing photo of himself in a tight embrace with his former teammate:

I’d like to go out on a limb here and say that this photo was taken after Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals. The fans in the background are definitely Dubs supporters, and the pure joy on Dellavedova’s face can only be brought about by an enormously momentous occasion, such as, say, winning an NBA title in Game 7, on the road, after being down 3-1.

If this is indeed the case, then Love appears to be attempting to throw back to the glory days of the Cavs. As we all know, Dellavedova was part of that historic Cavs side that went all the way to lift the NBA title that season. While this is certainly not going to be the case this year (or anytime in the near future, for that matter), it’s still fun to remind everyone that the Cavs were once the greatest team in the league.

For his part, a return to Cleveland may prove to be an opportunity for Dellavedova to somewhat revive his seemingly declining career. The Cavs do have a shortage in the point guard department, so Delly may end up as Collin Sexton’s primary backup for the rest of the season.
