Cleveland Cavaliers star Kevin Love had a heartfelt message for the NBA family and the fans, both of which have been rattled by the coronavirus pandemic that has turned a world upside down.

Quarantined like the rest of NBA players have been advised, the Cavs veteran shared some words of inspiration along with some tips as to how to get through these tough times.

“I know that we’re going through some tough times and people are having to navigate feelings of stress, anxiety, the unknown,” said Love. “This is every day, every day is presenting a new challenge and not knowing what the future is gonna hold is tough.

“When you see people going through hardships, it’s normal to feel this way. I think now more than ever we need to practice compassion, we have to be kind, we have to be mindful of our words and actions and really practice a sense of community. I think that’s the biggest thing.”

Many NBA players are out of their element when it comes to having their season come to a screeching halt right in the vital stretch of the regular season. The inability to shoot around, keep in shape, and continue a routine will greatly affect Love and other players who remain isolated due to the contagion.

The Cavs forward hopes there’s some light at the end of the tunnel, so long as people are responsible and keenly aware of the danger at hand.

If this pandemic runs its course, it won’t be long after that the NBA will choose how to proceed with the rest of the 2019-20 NBA season.
