Kevin Love has heard his name discussed in a ton of trade rumors the past summer so much that he’s grown desensitized by it all. To perfectly demonstrate how it’s like to be in his shoes, Love compared his daily experience to that of Bill Murray’s in a 1993 comedy picture when he spoke to a horde of reporters, including Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com, during the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Media Day on Monday.

“Groundhog’s Day,” Love said with a smile when asked about how he processed the latest round of speculation.

Love is a favorite subject for Cleveland’s trade talks with fans often connecting his name to possible trade scenarios with the New York Knicks back when Carmelo Anthony was still in the Big Apple. There was also that time when Love’s name was brought up on a daily basis as an asset the Cavs could give up for Paul George, then of the Indiana Pacers.

Love outlived all those rumors and it seems like he’ll have no problem dealing with more in the future akin to how Murray’s character, Phil, on Groundhog Day, grew to accept the fact that there’s no escaping his fate of having to live the same day forever.

Let’s just think that Love treats all rumors as his own Ned Ryerson he has to frequently deal with.
