Kevin Garnett is sold on LeBron James.

Garnett, on his segment “Area 21,” made a somewhat bold prediction. He thinks the Cleveland Cavaliers star forward will win year’s MVP award. See below for the full video.

The league has several MVP candidates this year: Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Lonzo Ball (kidding, kidding!).

But no one has made a case for the award this year like James has. He’s averaging 28.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 8.6 assists while shooting 58.7 percent from he field and a whopping 43 percent from the three-point line, per Basketball Reference.

Also, his Player Efficiency Rating is 31.4, which is among the highest in his career.

And this is his 15th year in the NBA.

By now, any other NBA player would be in the twilight of their careers, possibly only playing about 20-25 minutes per game and averaging career lows in various statistical categories.

But not James. And Garnett sees that.

James has also been the catalyst to Cleveland’s current 13-game winning streak, one of the longest in franchise history. He’s successfully navigated the departure of Irving and led this team to once again be in the conversation of a title contender.

Garnett may be retired, but he is definitely right about James.
