After being held out of Monday night’s 112-90 home win over the Detroit Pistons due to back soreness, Cleveland Cavaliers forward Jeff Green will be back in the rotation for Wednesday’s matchup against the Denver Nuggets, according to a report from Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com.

Without a doubt, Green, now 31 years of age, is an important piece in Cleveland’s rotation. The former Georgetown Hoya has played in 60 games with the Cavs this season, averaging 10.5 points on 48.5 percent shooting from the field (30.9 percent from beyond the arc), 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

The Cavs have embarked on their longest road trip of the season: a six-game, 11-day journey. Currently, they’re just a half game ahead of the Indiana Pacers for the third seed in the Eastern Conference standings, and the Pacers own the season tie-breaker.

In other Cavs injury news, Kevin Love remains out due to a fractured bone in his left hand. The former UCLA standout was originally predicted to miss 6-8 weeks of action. Tristan Thompson, who recently suffered an ankle injury, is expected to miss roughly two weeks.

With Thompson out due to injury, Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue elected to give Larry Nance Jr. a starting nod at center on Monday night. The decision paid off in a big way, as Nance Jr. recorded career-highs in points (25) and rebounds (15) in 32 minutes of playing time.

Wednesday night’s Cavs-Nuggets game is set to tip inside the Pepsi Center at 10:30 p.m. EST with ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
