Jarrett Allen was unable to give it a go on Tuesday against the Atlanta Hawks due to injury. The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a tightly-contested 120-118 loss against Trae Young and Co., and one could say that Allen might have made a big difference in the game if only he was available. The Cavs have another tough matchup coming up on Friday, this time battling the New York Knicks at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Unfortunately for them, Allen might be out of commission yet again.

Jarrett Allen injury status vs. Knicks

As of writing, Allen is considered doubtful to play due to a groin injury. This is the same right groin strain that forced him out of Tuesday’s tussle against the Hawks, and it now appears that the former All-Star is headed to another game on the sidelines come Friday night.

To make matters worse for the Cavs, Allen is far from the only player on the injury report. Isaac Okoro and Danny Green have both already been ruled out due to respective injuries. Raul Neto is questionable to play, while Dean Wade is probable.

As for the Knicks, they recently suffered a major Julius Randle injury blow. New York’s star forward is now expected to be out for at least two weeks after suffering a sprain in his left ankle. Derrick Rose is also questionable to play.

The Cavs have already clinched a playoff spot in the East. They are currently fourth in the conference with a 48-29 record. The Knicks, who are at fifth, are the biggest threats to Cleveland’s home-court advantage in the playoffs, but as of right now, New York sits a full four games behind the Cavs.
