When going out to eat with friends or co-workers, it’s often customary for one member of the party to pick up the tab, right? On Wednesday morning in Southern California, that’s exactly what Cleveland Cavaliers center Tristan Thompson did.

As most Cavs fans know, several members of the team have been working out with LeBron James this week at UC-Santa Barbara’s campus. Joined by their smooth-shooting teammate, J.R. Smith, Thompson and James sat down for a spot of breakfast before hitting the gym.

After learning that Thompson, who is in the middle of a five-year, $82 million deal with the Cavs, had paid the bill, Smith, a quietly funny guy, decided to make a short video post to share the news.

“Y’all not going to believe this $hit. This man, Double T, actually paid for breakfast. Ain’t that some $hit,” Smith said in shock, sitting alongside an equally amused LeBron James at breakfast.

In a separate video post, Cavs forward Channing Frye shared what it’s like to dine with his friend and teammate, Richard Jefferson.

“You ever go out to eat with somebody and they’re on their phone the whole time,” Frye asked in his video before panning the camera to an occupied Jefferson. “Good talk, Rich.”

With the start of the 2017-18 NBA season approaching fast, Cavs fans won’t have to wait much longer to see these characters in on-court action.
