Isaiah Thomas is one of the most talked about players in the league today, especially after being included in the potential deal that will land him with the Cleveland Cavaliers, in exchange for Kyrie Irving.
Everything looked to be final until he was subjected to undergo tests recently for his hip pointer injury. As it turned out, the Cavs may ask for additional assets to set the deal in stone.
However, instead of worrying about all the chatter involving him, he decided to spend some time with his former teammate and good friend Amir Johnson in Las Vegas. A photo was uploaded by the 5-foot-9 point guard’s wife on Instagram, showing the two sharing a laugh together and appearing to be having a good time.
Thomas’ move to Northeast Ohio may have taken a twist, but one thing certain though is the deal has not fallen off completely, and they still have until August 30 to finalize it. It’s no secret that the Cavaliers have been busy looking for a trade partner for Irving, and they feel that the Celtics’ offer is the best they could get, which could lead to them pushing for it to be final.
The two-time All-Star point guard spent his last three seasons with the Boston Celtics, following a trade from the Phoenix Suns back in the 2014-15 campaign. He has emerged as one of the elite players in the league, and has led Boston to three straight playoff appearances, and even reaching the Eastern Conference Finals this past season.
Despite losing Irving, the Cavs will receive a very good replacement in return, and could even turn out to be a better fit than him, should he be able to quickly adjust to the team’s system.
