The Cleveland Cavaliers have been a mess all season. Although they are currently ranked third in the Eastern Conference with a 28-19 record, the team has struggled all season and has failed to live up to their expectations as perennial championship contenders. To begin, the Cavaliers are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, and that will transform in a huge dilemma until the team can get it together. Next, there is too much uncertainty regarding LeBron James’ future in Cleveland. At this point, no one knows where he will end up, and it’s becoming a distraction.

Lastly, the Cavaliers appear to have some big chemistry issues. Whether it’s negative team meetings or questionable on-court interactions, the Cavaliers just don’t seem to have any camaraderie on the court. Then, there is Isaiah Thomas. Although he was supposed to be a treasure this season, the Cavaliers have still struggled mightily. Now, Thomas’ shot selection is being thrown into question, and Thomas is starting to get frustrated about it.

He is right. Thomas was traded to Cleveland to become a second scorer to James. It hasn’t happened yet. He is only averaging 15.4 points per game while shooting 39 percent from the field and 27 percent from the 3-point line. Nonetheless, the Cavaliers’ problem isn’t too much on offense, so there shouldn’t be any issue with Thomas’ shot selection, at least not yet. He has come back from a serious injury and may need some time to adapt to being a secondary scorer.

Still, Thomas was initially viewed as the Cavaliers’ savior when Kyrie Irving left the team. Now, many people are starting to think otherwise.
