After playing in 22 straight games between December and January for the Cleveland Cavaliers, forward Kevin Love is on the verge of missing his third-straight game with lower back spasms. The Cavaliers will need to be at full strength when they take on the 4th-seeded Los Angeles Clippers, who are on a five-game winning streak with wins over the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers and Atlanta Hawks. With Donovan Mitchell remaining on the team’s injury report, and the Cavaliers winning two of their last six games, the question still remains: Is Kevin Love playing vs the Clippers tonight?

Is Kevin Love Playing Tonight vs. the Clippers?

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love was listed as out by Cleveland.com Cavs reporter Chris Fedor. He was originally listed as questionable with guard Donovan Mitchell and forward Dylan Windler. Mitchell is still fighting through a left groin strain he suffered against the New Orleans Pelicans, cramping up last seconds of a matchup against the New York Knicks as he drove to attempt a game-winning dunk.

Love was added to the team’s injury update with lower back spasms before the team takes on the Houston Rockets on Thursday, according to multiple sources. Love is averaging 8.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists for the Cavs this season, suiting up as a backup forward for 38 games and starting in three.

Mitchell was seen wearing a wine-colored Cavs jersey during today’s shootaround, giving a hopeful sign that the Cavs guard will take the starting spot as the team faces the higher-ranked Los Angeles team.

The good news, Cavs Nation, is Sunday’s matchup will be played at home.

Cleveland owns a 20-5 record at home, one of the best in the Eastern Conference. The Clippers do sport one of the better road records in the West with 14-13.

The Cavs will tip off against the Clippers at 7 p.m. EST on Sunday in Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse. The game will be broadcasted on Bally Sports Ohio.
