On Friday, the Cleveland Cavaliers will face the New York Knicks for the fourth and final time this season. The Knicks sit in fifth place in the Eastern Conference, four games behind the Cavs for fourth and 2.5 in front of the Brooklyn Nets. A win over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and a loss by New York can push the Nets closer to a potential spot in fifth place. The Cavs will need as many hands on deck as possible to have the best look possible into a potential playoff matchup. With the need for their anchor to face off against Knicks center Mitchell Robinson, the question remains: Is Jarrett Allen playing tonight vs. the Knicks?

Jarrett Allen injury status vs. Knicks

Jarrett Allen was listed as “doubtful” with a groin injury on Thursday. He stuck around after shootaround to put up some shots, the Athletic Cleveland Cavaliers beat writer Kelsey Russo wrote in a Friday tweet.

Allen did not play in a 120-118 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday. He was listed as questionable with a right groin strain. Guards Danny Green and Raul Neto were unavailable in Tuesday’s bout against the Hawks.

A consistent stalwart for the Cavaliers, Allen has played in 65 of a possible 77 games for Cleveland during its winningest year since the 2017-18 season. He leads the Cavs in rebounds per game with 9.9 while taking second place in blocks with 1.2 per game.

Is Jarrett Allen playing tonight vs. the Knicks? Though nothing has been confirmed yet, the answer may be no.

Four players were listed on New York’s injury report on Friday. Forward Julius Randle was listed as “out” after he suffered a sprained ankle during a 101-92 Knicks win over the Miami Heat on Wednesday. Guards Duane Washington Jr. and DaQuan Jeffries were listed as “out,” while guard Derrick Rose was listed as “questionable” with an illness.
