The Cleveland Cavaliers will need all hands on deck to continue their recent winning streak. The Cavs scraped out two wins over potential playoff contenders in the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat, with one needing a little bit of bad luck at the free throw line to force overtime. On the birthday of head coach J.B. Bickerstaff and former Cleveland All-Star Austin Carr, and on another chance to face former Cavs forward Kevin Love and take the season series against his new team, Cavaliers fans will have to face an important uncertainty: Is Darius Garland playing tonight vs. the Heat?

Darius Garland injury status vs. Heat

Darius Garland is listed as “questionable” going into Friday’s game with a quad contusion, Cleveland.com Cavs reporter Chris Fedor wrote in a Friday tweet. Garland took a hit to his quad in the second half of Wednesday’s game against the Heat.

“There was a moment where he was doubled over in pain and holding his leg,” Fedor wrote. “He limped around at the start of one possession but was able to stay in the game.”

Garland led the team in points during the closely-contested bout, racking up 25 points as he made eight of his 16 shot attempts and three of his six 3-point shots.

Is Darius Garland playing tonight vs. the Heat? The answer is maybe. Garland has had his fair share of injuries and hits throughout the season, to the point of becoming frustrated after uncalled fouls and increased physicality on defense led to many painful outcomes.

Heat guard Kyle Lowry was listed as “out” for Miami. He missed the last 14 games with left knee soreness. Love was listed as “probable” with a right rib contusion.

The Cavs will tip off against the Heat at 8 p.m. EST on Friday in Miami-Dade Arena. The game will be broadcasted on NBA TV and Bally Sports Ohio.
