Donovan Mitchell faced the press on Wednesday for the first time as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The All-Star shooting guard faced a myriad of questions during his introductory press conference, and there was no shortage of serious subjects as he looks to fill the shoes of the Cavs’ new cornerstone superstar.

There were some light moments too, though. At one point, Mitchell was asked about the prospect of jumping from one small-market team to another, while also moving to a city that has similar weather conditions to his former place of residence. The 26-year-old made it abundantly clear that the cold doesn’t bother him anyway (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

“I love the cold, so that’s not a problem,” he said. “… Like I said I love the cold, to be honest, I think I dress better in the cold.”

That’s an excellent point from Mitchell. After all, his move to Cleveland will not require much acclimatization for him considering he spent the last five years in Utah. Cleveland does have some brutal weather conditions, but Utah isn’t far behind either.

The same can probably be said about Mitchell’s game. Not that it’s brutal or anything, but that he’s likely going to fit in well with his new teammates. With the Cavs, Donovan Mitchell is now going to be surrounded by a young and hungry group that has a lot to prove. At this point, there’s no denying that there’s a lot to be excited about for Cavs fans everywhere.
