Although LeBron James brought Cleveland Cavaliers fans the title they so desperately craved, it still must hurt to see him go. As if the Cleveland fanbase needed another reminder, it appears that inclement weather is delaying the removal of a LeBron banner in Cleveland.

This is even worse than if the entire banner was left up. It’s all that much more depressing to see half the poster dangling from the facade of the building.

At least if the entire banner was left up it could serve as a happy reminder that James and his Cavaliers squad rallied from down 3-1 to beat the Golden State Warriors in 2016. Rather, it’s a depressing sign that the best period in Cleveland sports history is finally finished.

This is a perfect example of adding insult to injury. For Cleveland fans, the best thing to do is to move forward and remember the good times that LeBron brought to the city and to the Cavaliers franchise.

Stay indoors, turn on your computer, and watch highlights from the 2016 NBA Finals on repeat until the weather clears up and this banner is fully taken down. The future, much like the current weather in Cleveland, looks bleak.

While LeBron is kicking his feet up in sunny California, the Cleveland weather is only delaying the inevitable and becoming the metaphorical twisting of the knife for Cavs fans.

At the very least, Cleveland fans won’t have to watch LeBron bring home multiple championships with the Los Angeles Lakers. Although many in Cleveland would probably prefer that to watching a continued Warriors dynasty that serves as another cruel reminder at what could have been in Cleveland had it not been for Kevin Durant and the Warriors.
