Cleveland Cavaliers guard George Hill has been around the NBA just trying to find a home. He played well in Utah and had moments in Sacramento, but has also had some of his development stymied by injuries.

After he was included in a trade that sent him to the Cavaliers, many thought he would be one of the keys to turning around the damaged culture in the locker room and have the type of impact on the basketball floor that could get Cleveland back to the NBA Finals.

But so far with Cleveland, Hill has struggled to find his way and role on the team. After a recent game, he admitted that he hasn’t been been playing well lately. On Wednesday, Hill put up 22 points after going scoreless just a few day before.

Hill has been trying to figure out how to get back on track, per Spencer Davies of Basketball Insiders.

“I’ve been playing like crap the past couple of weeks, I think,” Hill said. “It’s being hard on myself, staying in the gym with our coaches and things like that, shooting more, watching more film — just trying to figure out how I can find myself again.”

It’s always refreshing to hear players admit their struggles and the ways they want to overcome them. There are players in the NBA that never really cop to having anything wrong with their game.

Hill is one of the key pieces on the Cavaliers, and they will need for him to play well and find himself some more heading into what will likely be a grueling playoff run.
