REPORT: George Hill expected to join Bucks, take physical on Monday

George Hill, Cavs, Bucks

George Hill will take his physical with the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Dec. 10, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

Once George Hill passes his physical, the three-team trade between the Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards can become official.

The Cavs acquired George Hill at the trade deadline last season from the Sacramento Kings. In the 24 regular-season games he appeared in with Cleveland last year, Hill averaged 9.4 points and 2.8 assists while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 35.1 percent on 3-pointers.

Hill, 32, is making $19 million this year, but has just $1 million guaranteed in 2019-20. He is averaging 10.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game on the season. With the Cavs rebuilding and playing rookie Collin Sexton a lot, there was no point to have Hill on the roster.

The Bucks’ current starting point guard is Eric Bledsoe. Milwaukee starts Malcolm Brogdon at the shooting guard spot. It will be interesting to see what Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer decides to do with Hill and Brogdon. Bringing Hill off the bench to back up Bledsoe and the point guard position makes the most sense, though.
