Former Michigan player in NBA rips Cavaliers players after John Beilein resigns
One former Michigan player in the NBA is ripping the Cavs players after John Beilein resigned.
Beilein has resigned from his position as head coach. The Cavs went 14-40 prior to the All-Star break. That was the worst mark in the Eastern Conference:
One former Michigan player in NBA tells me: “John Beilein’s system would work in NBA. He’s an excellent coach; they should’ve loved playing for him. But you have to have players who value winning, winning players, and they don’t.” #Cavs

The Cavs will now promote J.B. Bickerstaff to head coach. Bickerstaff was initially hired as part of an eventual succession plan with Beilein, who struggled in the job both on the court and in the locker room.
The second post-LeBron James era is going just like the first one: terribly. At least the first one netted the Cavs Kyrie Irving, though. The second one has seen a Tyronn Lue firing, a Kevin Love outburst at Altman, a weird Andre Drummond trade and now the Beilein situation.
Friends and associates of Beilein have described him as unhappy — even miserable — with the move to the Cavs. The losing that comes with a rebuild, as well as several skirmishes in public and private with players, has played a part in the rapid deterioration of his tenure.
While it is too late for the Cavs to make a push for the playoffs, they are hoping to build some momentum and chemistry with new center Andre Drummond in the fold. The franchise wants to see how Drummond is going to mesh with young guards Collin Sexton and Darius Garland for the rest of the season.
