Although the Cleveland Cavaliers grabbed a big 128-125 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night, it wasn’t enough to advance in the In-Season Tournament. But, there were numerous bright spots in the victory, including the performances of Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley. The Cavs big man put up 17 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, draining 8 of his field goals.

Following the contest, JB Bickerstaff heaped praise on Mobley. Via Cavs Insider:

“Evan Mobley is an elite basketball player. He’s not a one-dimensional guy. A stat doesn’t dictate how impactful he is on the floor. You see him. He’s all over the place, right? 17 points, 19 rebounds, seven blocks. He’s all over the floor doing everything, and that’s the type of basketball player that he is. His points may not be what people want them to be, but Evan Mobley is a stud, and he can dominate a game like he did tonight.”

Tuesday marked his 12th double-double of the 2023-24 campaign already for the Cavs. Not only did he pull down a career-high 19 boards, but Mobley also had a season-best seven blocks. As Bickerstaff said, Mobley was dominant on both ends of the floor.

The former USC standout is a big reason for the Cavs’ 10-8 record. He’s now averaging 16.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists while shooting 56.7% from the field. As we know, the Twin Towers of Mobley and Jarrett Allen are crucial to this team’s success and Mobley is proving he’s a force both offensively and defensively.

The Cavs are back in action on Thursday against the Portland Trail Blazers. Mobley will look to continue his impressive start to the season.
