Cleveland Cavaliers guard Dwyane Wade will be held out of Wednesday night’s home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves for rest, according to a report from ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

Despite feeling a bit ill, Wade, now 36 years of age, played in Tuesday night’s 116-98 loss to the Orlando Magic, scoring 11 points, four rebounds, one assist, and one block in his 22 minutes of playing time.

With Wade out of the lineup, players like Jose Calderon and Kyle Korver will likely see their minutes increase.

In his 46 games played for the Cavs this season, Wade has turned in averages of 11.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field (32.0 percent from beyond the arc), 3.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

The Cavs, now 30-22 overall and tied for the No. 4 seed in the Eastern Conference standings, will also be without the services of Kevin Love, as most hoops fans know. The 6-10 rebounding machine has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a fractured bone in his hand.

Coach Lue will return to his post on the bench after leaving Tuesday night’s game with an illness, according to ESPN.

Wednesday night’s game is scheduled to tip inside Quicken Loans Arena at 8:00 p.m. EST with ESPN and Fox Sports Ohio having live broadcast coverage.
