The Cleveland Cavaliers finally appear to have gotten past their early-season struggles, currently holding the third-best record in the East behind a seven-game win streak.

During this hot stretch, All-Star guard Dwyane Wade has noticed a huge change in the overall trust among the players on the team, according to a report from the Akron Beacon Journal.

“We talked about this earlier in the season, for us to win games we’ve got to build that trust,” Wade said Sunday after practice at Cleveland Clinic Courts. “Just going over film and watching certain things that we did, everything is not perfect, but the way that we’re covering for each other and the way we’re communicating, all these things, that’s the part right there that will win you a lot of games.”

“Having that trust on the floor defensively, knowing that the other guy has your back, etc. You’ll win more games than not playing that way, so definitely proud of that.”

The Cavs have come to expect some sort of adjustment period to start the season with eight new players on the roster. In this, there has been a strong level of familiarity with each other on the court in order for the team to operate in the most efficient manner.

It has become quite evident over the last couple of weeks that the Cavs have found something despite dealing with injuries to Derrick Rose, Tristan Thompson, and Isaiah Thomas. The current rotation of players in their absence has progressively improved on their communication among each other on the court.

Things should continue to hedge in the right direction once Thompson, Thomas, and if Rose returns to the fold over the next few weeks.
