During the first 13 years of his career, Dwyane Wade remained with the Miami Heat, which made many believe that he will spend his entire career in South Beach. However, he shocked the basketball world last year when he decided to take his talents to his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls, before eventually reaching a buyout with them this past offseason and agreeing to a veteran’s minimum deal with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

It may have been difficult to imagine the 12-time All-Star playing for three teams in as many years, but he said recently that he doesn’t mind it because he is already content with what he’s done in his first 13 seasons as a pro. He then added, via the Sun Sentinel, that even if he did not plan it to be this way, he does not have regrets as well.

“It’s different,” Wade said. “Obviously, you don’t know what’s going to happen from day to day. This career path we all chose in the NBA, you just don’t know what’s going to happen with it.

“For me, I’m OK and I’m content with what I’ve done for 13 years. Did I think it was gonna shake out this way? No. But I’m not sitting here crying about it neither.”

Now at 35 years old, Wade continues to be a key contributor for the Cavs off the bench. His championship experience will also come in handy for his team once the playoffs start as he will give them more stability when they attempt to bring home another title to Northeast Ohio. Should they win it all, and give Wade his fourth ring, he may have just found a new home and could play his last years in the NBA with the team.
