Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard Dwyane Wade will return to the team for Saturday night’s home game against the Houston Rockets, according to a report from Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal.

Wade, now 36 years of age, has been on an excused leave of absence to attend the funeral of Henry Thomas, his long-time friend and agent. Cavs head coach Tyronn Lue had previously stated that the three-time champion could take as much time as needed to mourn the loss, but it sounds like he’ll suit up for the Wine and Gold tonight.

In his 44 appearances with the Cavs this season, Wade has turned in averages of 11.2 points on 45.5 percent shooting from the field (32.8 percent from beyond the arc), 4.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists.

If Wade can manage to score five points against the Rockets, he’ll pass Gary Payton (21,813) for the 31st spot on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

On an interesting side note, the Cavs are set to debut their new “City Edition” uniforms from Nike on Saturday. For more information on the kits, hoops fans can head over to this link.

Saturday night’s game is set to tip inside Quicken Loans Arena at 8:30 p.m. EST with ABC having live broadcast coverage. Let’s see how the Cavs, now 30-20 overall and 1st in the Central Division standings, fare against the league’s leading scorer in James Harden.
