On Tuesday, Max Strus sent the Cleveland Cavaliers fanbase into wild celebrations. Down by one, the Cavs sharpshooter sank a game-winner from beyond halfcourt to overcome the Dallas Mavericks. Aside from the fans, Strus’ teammates were also ecstatic about his heroics. Cavs star Donovan Mitchell, in particular, couldn’t help but tweet about his teammate after the game.

Posting a GIF of a fired-up Strus during his DePaul days, Mitchell added a one-word caption to the post.

“Mood,” Mitchell posted, via his official X (Twitter) account.

Culminating with his crazy shot, Strus finished Tuesday night’s outing with 21 points, going 7-of-10 (70%) from three-point territory. In addition, the wingman grabbed four rebounds and dished out four assists.

Mitchell, on the other hand, led the Cavs with 31 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Just like his teammate, the Cavs’ franchise player sank seven threes as well.

What also helped Cleveland pull off the victory was how a total of six players finished the game with double-digits in scoring. Big men Jarett Allen and Evan Mobley added 19 and 12 points respectively while Caris LeVert (11 points) and Georges Niang (10 points) also did damage off the bench.

The Cavs built a 15-point lead during the second quarter, but they were unable to sustain it as the Mavericks fought back to keep the game close at the start of the third.

Strus and Co. found themselves down by 10 at one point with less than five minutes left in the game, but they would not break, as Max Strus himself sank four straight makes from downtown to catch up. And as the clash went down to the final seconds, the Cavs sharpshooter pulled off the miracle.

Cleveland looks to add another win as they face the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday.
