On Sunday evening, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs hit the field in Las Vegas to take on Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 58, with the right to hoist this year’s Lombardi Trophy on the line. The Chiefs got off to a very slow start in this one, falling behind 10-0 to the 49ers early before a late field goal chopped the deficit to seven shortly before the halftime break.
Speaking of that halftime break, legendary R&B artist Usher provided the entertainment for the fans in Las Vegas, with help from Alicia Keys, Ludacris, and more during the performance.
One person who was thrilled with what he saw from Usher and company was none other than Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell, who took to X, the social media platform formerly referred to as Twitter, to express his thoughts on the performance.
“Naaaa Usher goin crazy!!” wrote Mitchell on the platform.
In addition to his iconic dance moves and several of his biggest hit songs, Usher also deployed the use of roller skates, a marching band, and other theatrics during his performance, all of which seemed to impress the Cavs guard.
As for Mitchell and his team, Cleveland has been rolling as of late, having only two total losses since the calendar flipped over to 2024 and currently holders of the second best record in the Eastern Conference. As is customary, the NBA avoids scheduling night games for the same day as the Super Bowl, for obvious reasons.
