The Cleveland Cavaliers improved to 4-0 in the NBA Summer League after their 87-83 win over the Chicago Bulls on Thursday. Isaiah Mobley had another big game for the Cavs, producing an 18-point, 12-rebound double-double in 32 minutes of action. This has been the trend for the 23-year-old rookie as he continues to make waves in the offseason for Cleveland.
So much so, that Mobley has captured the attention of Cavs superstar Donovan Mitchell. The four-time All-Star could not help but share his reaction on Twitter after another strong performance from the new Cleveland recruit:
Apart from stuffing the stat sheet in the Cavs’ win over Chicago, Mobley also hit a clutch step-back triple deep in the fourth quarter to help Cleveland mount a comeback victory:
In four games played in the Summer League this offseason, Mobley has averaged 14.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 27.5 minutes per game. The 6-foot-10 power forward isn’t going to be this dominant in the NBA, but it is clear that he brings a lot to the table for the Cavs. His strong Summer League stint could be enough to earn him a spot in Coach JB Bickerstaff’s rotation in the upcoming season.
For his part, Donovan Mitchell clearly likes what he sees from his new young teammate. Isaiah’s younger brother, Evan Mobley, is also someone who’s going to be in his corner. At this point, it seems like Isaiah Mobley is finally going to get his chance in the big leagues.
