The Cleveland Browns continue to find success with veteran Joe Flacco as their starting quarterback. On Sunday, Flacco willed the team to another victory, with the Browns taking down Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears at home, 20-17. Browns fans and even Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell have all been left in awe by the football team. Here’s the Cavs star showing Flacco and the Browns some love on X (formerly Twitter).
“This dude Joe Flacco is insane‼️‼️” Mitchell said.
“😳😳😳😳 @Browns,” Mitchell later posted.
Flacco did not have an especially smooth performance against the Bears, but what he showed was enough to tow the Browns to their second win in a row — and 9th overall in the 2023 NFL season against five losses.
Cleveland sports fans also got some good news from Mitchell and the Cavs, who defeated the visiting Atlanta Hawks on Saturday, 127-119. That win snapped the Cavaliers’ three-game skid and improved the team’s record to 14-12. Like Flacco, Mitchell was not exactly efficient in the Atlanta game, as he went just 7/21 from the field to finish with 22 points, but he dropped 13 dimes with five rebounds and two steals in 41 minutes of floor duty. Regardless of his shooting performance, Mitchell will continue to see a heavier workload on offense than usual with Darius Garland out with an injury.
Mitchell and the Cavaliers will look to sustain their newfound form when they host the Houston Rockets at home Monday night, while the Browns will next prepare for a Week 16 matchup versus the Houston Texans.
