After a brilliant rookie season, Evan Mobley is poised to make a big leap in his second year this 2022-23. Both his Cleveland Cavaliers teammates Darius Garland and Kevin Love firmly believe that as they heaped praise on the youngster.

According to Garland, Mobley is “on a mission right now” after losing out on the Rookie of the Year award last season. The big man came as a runner-up to Scottie Barnes, albeit by just a small margin of 15 points. Now, the All-Star guard believes it is motivating his young teammate to show the world what he can do and “what they missed out on last year.”

Garland also made an All-Star declaration for Mobley, saying that the team could very well have four All-Stars soon.

“He’s coming in a lot more hungry. He’s a lot stronger. He knows more about the game than he did last year. We’re super excited to see his jump from last year to this year. I’m excited to see it — hopefully four All-Stars as well,” Garland shared, per Cleveland.com.

Like Darius Garland, Kevin Love sees Evan Mobley really elevating his game to the next level. The veteran forward has seen how the 21-year-old worked this summer, fueling his confidence that it will be a significant campaign for Mobley.

“He hasn’t even scratched the surface of really how good he can be, but all the signs are there and he’s not afraid to work,” Love shared. “When I saw him in L.A. when we were all there together, I thought, ‘OK, he’s going to make a big step.’ He’s one of those guys that’s like a unicorn, able to do it all.”

It’s definitely be exciting to see how Mobley has improved from his first season going into his second year. An ankle injury in the preseason limited Mobley and prevented fans from seeing the steps he has made so far, but with the USC product healthy now entering the 2022-23 season, the wait won’t be long.
