Darius Garland and the Cleveland Cavaliers showed no mercy at the Detroit Pistons Saturday night. The Cavs welcomed Detroit and whipped the Pistons in a 114-90 victory that left no question about which team is better this season. With that win, the Cavs have reached win. No. 40 in the 2022-23 NBA season and also further boosted the belief among Cleveland players that they have what it takes to go all the way and bring home the second NBA title in franchise history.
“I’m fiending for it, to be honest with you. I think, no, I know that all of my guys are too,” Darius Garland said about how he and his teammates are so excited to bring this kind of energy to the postseason, via Evan Dammarell.
“Making the playoffs is always something I’ve wanted to have, to be honest with you. I just want to get there and make some noise and, hopefully, win a championship one day,” Darius Garland added.
Darius Garland is playing a huge role in the success of the Cavs this season. Against the Pistons, he paced his team with 21 points on 8-for-11 shooting to go with seven assists, three rebounds, and two steals in just 24 minutes. His backcourt mate, Donovan Mitchell, came away with 20 points on 8-for-17 shooting. Garland and Mitchell form a dynamic backcourt.
The Cavs also have a fantastic frontcourt anchored by the tandem of Jarrett Allen and Evan Mobley. This is a team that poses a serious threat not only to the rest of the East but to the entire league and should be a headache to face in the playoffs.
