Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard exemplified that well-known axiom Friday night when he acknowledged LeBron James’ otherworldly performance in the Cleveland Cavaliers’ 130-122 win over the Washington Wizards.

What made Lillard hop onto Twitter and profess his amazement of James was the latter’s monstrous effort on Friday night. James exploded for a season-high 57 points and further decorated his stat line with 11 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and two blocks. James shot 23-of-34 from the floor and hit all his nine attempts from the charity stripe. On top of those, James also went 2-for-4 from beyond the arc.

As if those numbers weren’t enough to make this night a memorable one for James, the Cavaliers forward also became the youngest player to score 29,000 career points while extending his streak of double-digit scoring to 800 games.

The King made every effort possible to avoid losing five games in a row, already having matched the Cavs’ longest losing streak from last season after a loss to the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

James’ historic night came a day after Lillard buried a game-winning three to lead the Blazers to a 113-110 victory at home over the Los Angeles Lakers.

If Thursday was Dame Time, Friday is LeBron Time.

Real recognize real.
