Collin Sexton’s intensity on the court is well-known amongst NBA fans. When he wants to turn it on, the Cleveland Cavaliers star can definitely up the intensity meter up to 100. Whether it’s on offense or defense, you can almost always count on him to bring it everytime.
Amid his current contract dispute with the Cavs, Collin Sexton reminded everyone why he’s a valuable player on a team. During a Pro-Am League, he showed off his trademark intensity again, hounding his opponent like his life depended on in. His facial reactions captured just how intense this was for Sexton during the game (via Hoop Central)
Sexton missed a good portion of the 2021 – 22 season for the Cavs after suffering a season-ending injury. The team’s success without him has made him the odd man out with the core group. Cleveland brass is reportedly unwilling to hand Sexton the long-term extension he’s been looking for. As a result, the two sides are at a standstill when it comes to negotiations. Worse, other teams seem uninteresting in paying him what he wants.
This is an unfortunate fall for a player who, just one season ago, was one of the best players in the league. Sexton was once seen as the future of the Cavs franchise, averaging over 24 points per game and carrying the offense. One injury-shortened season, though, is all it took for the team to all but discard him from their plans.
