After being linked to a Cleveland Cavaliers exit over the past few months, Collin Sexton has finally left for greener pastures. The 23-year-old is now headed to the Utah Jazz after he was included in the Cavs’ blockbuster deal for Donovan Mitchell.

Cleveland fans everywhere are rejoicing with the arrival of Mitchell. However, there’s also no denying that there’s a bit of sadness in their hearts now that Sexton is going to be leaving the team after spending the first four seasons of his career repping the wind and gold.

For their part, the Cavs how now sent out a heartfelt farewell message for Sexton. The organization thanked the former eighth overall pick for all that he has done for the franchise:

“For the energy night in and night out. For the buckets when we needed them the most. For the impact you left on our organization. Thank you, Collin ❤️🐂” the tweet read.

Sexton himself has already said his goodbyes, stating that he “will be forever grateful” to the Cavs for the opportunity that they gave him.

There was a lot of buzz surrounding Sexton this summer as he navigated free agency. The 6-foot-1 combo guard saw his previous deal with the Cavs come to an end at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. He was a restricted free agent before he put pen to paper on a new deal worth $72 million for four years as part of the sign-and-trade deal with the Jazz.

We wish Collin Sexton all the luck as he turns to a new chapter in his career.
