The battle for LeBron James is officially on, as the city of Cleveland was determined to stick up for their prodigal son after Power, a Philadelphia-based company, had posted three billboards across a city freeway to recruit him to the 76ers.

The coalition of GEIS, the Wild Eagle Saloon, and The 9 collaborated to counter Philly fans with a unique crown ad, with part of the regal headgear apparently designed to resemble a pointed middle finger in return.

The ad also boasts the hashtag #TheLandOfTheKing, ensuring the message is sent across fairly concisely, only days after the initial billboards were spotted.

While neither of these public announcements are from either of the two franchises, it surely shows just how fiery a race will ensue once James has to make a decision at the end of this season, with several teams expected to make a pitch to the 15th year pro.

The Cavs have looked determined to keep James in town after swinging for the fences during the trade deadline and pulling off shocking back-to-back-to-back trades to rejuvenate what was the oldest team in the entire league.

James is expected to receive a grand offer from the Los Angeles Lakers over the summer, as they have cleared cap space to pitch two potential max players into coming to play at the City of Angels.

The Sixers rolled into the race late, but boast the most playoff-ready roster with the likes of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, making that their most viable pitch for The King’s services.
