The Cleveland Cavaliers haven’t had a great start to their 2023-24 season, but that’s what happens when half of your rotation is dealing with injuries. As they prepare for a rematch of their first-round playoff series from last year with the New York Knicks, it looks like a handful of players could be forced to miss this game for the Cavs.
To start things off, both Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen are going to be out for this game. Garland has played in just one game this season due to a hamstring injury, while Allen has yet to play in a game due to an ankle injury. Making matters even worse, both Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert are questionable for the game with hamstring injuries.

“Cavs Darius Garland, Jarrett Allen and Ty Jerome are OUT against the Knicks tonight. Donovan Mitchell and Caris LeVert are questionable. Both with hamstring soreness.”
The Cavs could be in trouble against the Knicks
Being without Garland and Allen is one thing, but potentially being without Mitchell and LeVert in addition to them would be a real blow for the Cavs. Cleveland will be looking for revenge in this one after the Knicks eliminated them from the playoffs last season, but they could be without four key pieces in this game if all goes wrong for them.
Chances are one of Mitchell or LeVert will be able to suit up for this game, but even then, being without either one of them would be a big blow for Cleveland. It’s only the fourth game of their regular season campaign, but the continued injury woes are becoming an early concern for the Cavs, and it will be worth checking their final injury report to see whether Mitchell or LeVert will suit up for this one.
