The Cleveland Cavaliers traded away forward Channing Frye after weeks of trade discussions with teams around the NBA. Earlier this morning, Channing Frye was traded away from the Cavs in a deal that brought back Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson and forward Larry Nance Jr.

After the trade was complete, Frye took to Instagram to thank Cavs’ fans but also throw a joke in at the end saying “don’t go 0-6. Otherwise they’ll trade you!”

Frye helped the Cleveland Cavs to two straight NBA Finals appearances with great performances off the bench. He was crucial in the Cavs’ run to the NBA Finals in 2016, which ended in his first NBA championship as well as the city of Cleveland.

During his tenure with Cleveland, Frye averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game. He made 19 starts and played a total of 144 games for the Cavs.

It’s unclear whether his career will continue with the Lakers or he’ll be bought out to pursue joining a playoff team.
