There is no doubt that LeBron James is one of the greatest players in the City of Cleveland history if not maybe the greatest, but should he go down as one of the greatest coaches too?

There has always been jokes about how the real coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers is LeBron James and not Tyronn Lue, but evidently, ABC5 out of Cleveland thinks James is the actual coach of the team.

They ran a video of some of his pregame thoughts before Thursday night’s game against the Portland Trail Blazers and in the description for James, it says “Cavs Head Coach.”

James is no doubt the leader of this team, and sometimes he has to will the team to victory, but calling him the coach? Come on now.

The Cavaliers haven’t had the season they were hoping for so far this year, but as long as they qualify for the playoffs that’s all that matters because when the playoffs roll around, it’s usually when James plays his best.

On the season, James is averaging 26.9 points, 9.0 assists, and 8.5 rebounds per game. He is shooting 54.3 percent from the field and 37.2 percent from deep. His shooting percentage from the field and deep are well above his career averages.

He has had to take on a bigger role the last month or so as the new players like Larry Nance Jr, George Hill, and Jordan Clarkson try to get familiar with the new team.

Once the playoffs roll around those guys are going to have to play hard for coach LeBron and they will be key to if this team will get back to the Finals and compete for another NBA title.
