The Cleveland Cavaliers are certainly looking forward to a fresh start for the upcoming season following a completely forgettable 2018-19 season. So much so, that guys like Cedi Osman have gone out of their way to touch base with new head coach John Beilein.

Cleveland team insider Cayleigh Griffin reports that Osman intends to link up with the team in Las Vegas as Beilein and the Cavs take part in the Summer League.

Osman appears to be cutting his holiday a bit short, with the intention of being able to build some early chemistry with his new coach. There is no word if Osman will suit up for the Cavs in the Las Vegas Summer league, which starts Friday, but odds are, he will be there just to support the team.

It is also worth noting that Osman has been named in Turkey’s preliminary squad for the upcoming FIBA World Cup. The 24-year-old is one of the biggest names of his home country’s national team, so we fully expect him to be with the squad when the tournament tips off in China by the end of August.

In his sophomore campaign last season, Osman was provided with a bigger role on the team, to which the former second-round pick gladly obliged. Osman put up 13.0 points (on 42.7 percent shooting), 1.7 three-pointers, 4.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 0.8 steals as the Cavs’ starting small forward.

Osman is definitely looking to build on his outstanding season last term, as he hopes to establish himself as part of Cleveland’s young nucleus.
