The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to climb the Eastern Conference standings after a superb effort against the San Antonio Spurs. Evan Mobley a had breakout performance. Moreover, Donovan Mitchell led the team in points, but Zach Collins got under his skin at the end of the game.

The Spurs had possession of the ball with 54 seconds remaining in the game when Collins gave Mitchell a hard push-off screen. Officials called Collins for a foul, but Mitchell took exception to the move and shoved the Spurs big man in a heated altercation, as shown by Bleacher Report’s X account:

 

Mitchell was ejected from the game for the incident. Thankfully, it did not affect the outcome of the game, as the Cavs won 117-101.

Donovan Mitchell ended the night with 31 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, two steals, and two blocks. Meanwhile, Evan Mobley put on an impressive performance amid his return from injury. The 22-year-old put up 28 points and 10 rebounds.

Of course, Jarrett Allen continued his dominance with a 26-point-16-rebound double-double. It is great to see the young center continuing his success alongside Mobley. The rest of the NBA will cower in fear if the big-man duo continues their production.

Cleveland improved their record to 31-16, and the team sits third in the Eastern Conference standings. Cavs fans have plenty to be excited about as the team returns to full form.

The Cavaliers want to average their 2023 postseason exit with a deeper playoff run in 2024. The sky is the limit with the team’s combination of talent and hard work.
