Whether or not Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will end his career in the city of Cleveland has been a hotly-contested topic of debate for quite some time. James, now entering his 15th season in the NBA, can become an unrestricted free agent upon completion of the 2017-18 season, and hoops fans are searching for an answer. The truth is: there is no answer just yet. However, one clothing store in Akron, Ohio is making an effort to sway the three-time champion’s reasoning.
Shortly after James decided to “take his talents to South Beach” in the summer of 2010, one fan had a similar mentality. In what can only be described as an act of creative desperation, James Blair, a die-hard LeBron fan who was attending a game between the Cavs and (then) James-led Miami Heat, ran onto the floor wearing a tee shirt that actually caught the King’s attention. His actions, endearing as they were, also cost him a short stint in jail as well as a ban from the Q (which was lifted following James’ return).
There are some hoops fans (even some Cavs fans) who have already come to terms with a potential James departure. Yet, there are others who are adamant in their belief that the former St. Vincent – St. Mary’s High School standout will ride into the proverbial sunset with his hometown team.
As of today, there is no expert or insider who knowns James’ true intentions for next summer. For now, let’s just try to enjoy the show.
