Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James has never been shy to use his social media accounts to send messages to individuals, and even address the public. On Monday, the Cavs forward once again sent a tweet, and this time, to greet one of the best players to ever play the game, and also a well-respected executive in the NBA in the Los Angeles Lakers’ Magic Johnson.

With Johnson celebrating his 58th birthday, The King made sure he won’t miss out on sending his well wishes to the Lakers president. He even included in his tweet that Johnson is one of only a few people who has been giving him love since he entered the league back in 2003.

As rumors about James potentially leaving the Cavaliers next summer, the team that’s been consistently linked to him is the Lakers, and the tweet he sent to Johnson adds more fuel to the speculations swirling as early as now. With the Northeast Ohio team not making a lot of moves to bring in more talent to their fold this summer, mainly due to them being strapped by the cap, there’s growing belief that James could leave the Cavs for a young and promising Los Angeles team who also boasts of a much bigger market.

It may still be a year from now before the former four-time MVP and three-time champion makes a decision on his future, but it can be expected that rumors will continue to surround him throughout the season. His next destination may be anyone’s guess at this point, but one thing that’s certain is if the Lakers will make a move for him, Johnson will definitely play a huge role in trying to lure him to don the Purple and Gold jersey.
