The Cleveland Cavaliers took on the Los Angeles Lakers tonight as Kobe Bryant and LeBron James had their final duel in NBA history. This set up a huge stage for the two, and of course, they delivered.

LeBron James and Kobe Bryant got off to solid starts with LeBron putting up six points and Kobe putting up eight, but the story was Channing Frye’s shooting. Frye, who started in place of the injured Kevin Love, came out and 11 first quarter points on 4-4 shooting and 3-3 from downtown. He helped the Cavs take a 33-31 lead after one quarter of play.

The second quarter saw James and Bryant go at it a lot more, with Kobe hitting fadeaway shots from outside the arc while LeBron did it from basically everywhere. The highlight of the quarter came on an alley oop from off the backboard from J.R. Smith. The Cavs were able to increase their lead to nine by halftime.

The third quarter saw the Cavs create a little separation as the lead increased. The Cavs shot 52% in the quarter, and were able to get the lead all the way up to 14, their biggest of the game, led by LeBron James, Channing Frye, and Kyrie Irving.

With the game nearly in hand, the two coaches inserted Kobe Bryant and LeBron James for the final time. Both players playd roughly five minutes and put up four points apiece, but the Cavs came out on top 120-108.

Kyrie Irving led the way with 26 points and nine assists. LeBron James had 24 points, five rebounds, and seven assists. The surprise game with Channing Frye, who put up 21 points on 8-10 from the field and five three pointers in Kevin Love’s absence. Tristan Thompson added 10 points and 14 rebound and J.R. Smith added 17 points on 4/7 from downtown.
