Carmelo Anthony’s offseason alter ego, “Hoodie Melo,” has been an instant sensation, creating fans of all ages all across the globe. That impressive list of admirers apparently involves even Cleveland Cavaliers star Isaiah Thomas’ five-year-old son, Jaiden.

Thomas posted an Instagram video of him and his son playing some hoops on the driveway while wearing their respective hoodies. Jaiden gave Hoodie Melo a quick shoutout to begin the video before he and his father, who’s still recovering from his hip injury, got to work on some shooting and passing drills.
There was a chance Anthony could’ve been teammates with Thomas on the Cavaliers. Being in such close proximity with his idol likely would’ve thrilled young Jaiden. Unfortunately, the Cavs’ offer for Melo wasn’t quite good enough, and he eventually went to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Nevertheless, it seems that Hoodie Melo has already made his mark on the even more pint-sized Thomas, who is hard at work to reach — and potentially surpass — the lofty heights of the legendary hooded one.
