There has been much attention surrounding the Cleveland Cavaliers’ recently acquired All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas, centered around the status of his injured hip heading into this upcoming season.

However, this increased spotlight Thomas has received also granted him the opportunity to have a guest appearance, as himself, on the longtime hit TV show “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” according to Mark Dawidziak of Cleveland.com.

NBC confirmed Tuesday that the Cleveland Cavaliers new point guard, Isaiah Thomas, will appear on an episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” playing himself. The episode will air on WKYC Channel 3, probably in late October.

Over the years, the show has grabbed numerous big names in the public eye to make guest appearances on the program. It has been on the air since 1999 and is set to begin its 19th season later this month. It is currently the fourth longest running TV series that features a cast that includes Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Raul Esparza, and Peter Scanavino.

As for Isaiah Thomas, he is set to enter his first campaign with the Cavs after being acquired as part of the trade that sent Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics. He is coming off his best individual season where he averaged a career-high 28.9 points that helped him earn his second All-Star Game selection and an All-NBA Second-Team nod.
