Now that the 2016-17 season is over, teams around the NBA are exploring their options, including the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Earlier today, several reports indicated that the Cavaliers are interested in Indiana Pacers star forward Paul George. However, according to ESPN’s Marc Stein, the Cavs have also inquired about Chicago Bulls All-Star guard Jimmy Butler.

K.C. Johnson of The Chicago Tribune reports that the Phoenix Suns, who have loads of young talent and the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft, could jump in the pool to form a three-team transaction.

Obviously, the Cavs would have to give up a significant piece to acquire a player of Butler’s caliber. Most experts believe that they are willing to part ways with Kevin Love. There have also been reports of Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye being available.

On an interesting side note, Butler, 27, once said Kyrie Irving is someone he would like to play with. Maybe that dream comes to fruition, maybe not. Yet another twist in the offseason storyline.
