After Monday night’s 104-97 loss to the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron James spoke in a way we’ve never seen in his 14-year career. Charles Barkley made James the butt of his jokes again, labeling the star Cavalier as “whiny”.
It sent the four-time MVP into a fury, going after Barkley in waves.
James’ long time friend, Carmelo Anthony, didn’t seem surprised with the outburst, via CSN Mid-Atlantic..
“At the end of the day, I think he’s human, like we all are human. Even though we are considered these kind of super heroes and super athletes, nothing is supposed to affect us and we’re supposed to just go through life just taking it on the chin. It affects us in certain ways.”
“I think in his situation maybe he just got tired of hearing it from that particular person.”
While not said with quite the venom as James, Anthony is clearly taking the side of LeBron. Over his storied career, the King has always been the professional and taken all criticisms on the chin, but enough is enough.
Everyone seemed to enjoy James’ outburst, now making tonight’s game at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves an even larger spectacle.
